Today

Today is a great day to start a blog.

I am Genesis Eve. I am a 42 year old woman who is married to a great guy named Antonio. He has two sons, and I am a happy mom.

Last year, I wrote a book called The Daily Observations of a Fat Girl On Her Journey to (Try) and Lose Weight. The point of the book was to reveal the thoughts and feelings of a woman as she explored losing weight. It really isn’t about losing weight. To be honest, it’s a revelation that sometimes we don’t lose weight because there’s a whole lot of other stuff going on in life, and it’s hard to choose health when you’re dealing with all sorts of parenting/family issues.

In the book, I record my daily observations. I decided that this was more interesting than I originally expected. It’s kind of a radical honesty. This is today. This is what I’m thinking about today. It might not be what I’m thinking about tomorrow, but today, this is where I am. This is who I am.

This blog is an attempt to be honest, to be mindful, and to be present in my own life. My hope is that through reading this blog, you will find ways to be more present and mindful in your own life.
